From Conversations Across the Waters, a Movement Was Born

The One Body Initiative began as a grassroots effort founded by three Palestinians in response to global inaction during the genocide in Gaza. What started as an urgent call to action has grown into a powerful community-driven mission. For nine months, supporters across the NC Triangle came together to fund countless humanitarian projects in Gaza.

Our Milestone: August 12, 2024

On this date, we officially incorporated as a nonprofit corporation in North Carolina and were granted 501(c)(3) tax-exempt status by the IRS. With this designation, we are now recognized as One Body Initiative Inc. and are held to standards of accountability, including maintaining detailed records of our expenses, receipts, and on-the-ground partnerships in Gaza.

Our Mission

Our mission is simple: to provide help where help is needed most.
While our current focus is Gaza, we envision a future where we can expand to support communities in crisis around the world.

Our Work

Through grassroots fundraising and meaningful local partnerships, we are reaching communities across Gaza—providing food, restoring dignity, and offering vital support to families in their most vulnerable moments.

We are also dedicated to fostering connection and healing here in the NC Triangle. We believe that global solidarity begins with local community.
